FESTIVALS AND EVENTS

CROP OVER

The biggest festival in Barbados is Crop Over.  It is a carnival, cultural and music festival held at the end of July and beginning of August.  It celebrates the end of the harvesting of sugar cane which used to be the island’s main produce.  Crop Over is very popular with locals and members of the diaspora living in the UK, USA and Canada.  Famous Bajans like Rihanna often come home to “jump” in a band.

FOOD AND RUM FESTIVAL

In November there is a food and rum festival.
